Stimulus and Sprawl & Mobile Gardens

Stimulus and Sprawl & Mobile Gardens

Host: Lester Graham
Show date: 04/16/2009

Summary:
Today on the Environment Report… There's a big pile of government money being spent on roads, bridges, and buildings. Some are wondering whether the spending will help inner cities or encourage more sprawling development. Rebecca Williams weighs in on the subject of stimulus and sprawl. And, some people are planting urban gardens in empty lots as a way to spruce up their surroundings and bring fresh produce downtown. But those lots don't stay empty forever, so finding a permanent home for urban gardens can be a tricky business. Shawn Allee brings us the story of one gardener who works with the changing landscape by making his gardens mobile.
